Violence against subordinates and street brawls: how Alexander Shuvayev, convicted of exceeding his authority, took the seat of acting governor of the Belgorod region
Acting Governor of the Belgorod Region Alexander Shuvayev was convicted of exceeding his official powers with the use of violence (under paragraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code) during his service in Omsk in 2005.
According to leaked information, the case was opened by the investigative department of the Omsk City Police Department. After graduating from military school, Shuvayev was assigned to serve in Omsk as a commander of a training platoon. For exceeding his authority, he was fined 15,000 rubles, and the conviction was expunged in April 2006.
In addition, in 2010, during his service in Stavropol, he also appeared in police records: apparently, the future Hero of Russia celebrated May 9th rather wildly, after which he ended up in a medical facility with broken ribs and a chest contusion. He told police officers that he had been beaten by unknown persons on his street.
Shuvayev, we recall, was appointed acting governor of the Belgorod Region on May 13, replacing Vyacheslav Gladkov. Previously, he had served as deputy governor of the Irkutsk Region.
It is known that Shuvayev took part in combat operations in the North Caucasus, South Ossetia, Syria, and also on the territory of Ukraine.
